An orchestra that has grown, steadily, with a solid artistic and administrative path" Biograpgy Polish-born violinist Bogdan Chruszcz began his musical career in Caracas, Venezuela where he studied with Dr. Emil Friedman. He is a graduate of the University of Miami and was a recipient, during his student years, of a Fromm Fellowship in contemporary music in Tanglewood. Mr. Chruszcz is the founding concertmaster of the Florida Philharmonic and the Florida Grand Opera. His distinguished career as a concertmaster since 1978 includes stints with Miami Philharmonic, Fort Lauderdale Symphony, Miami City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Palm Beach Opera, Boca Raton Symphony, A.F.M. Congress of Strings, Boca Pops Orchestra, Pro-Arte Grateli, and National Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. He has also served as concertmaster under the baton of such renowned conductors as Aaron Copland, Igor Stravinsky, Leonard Bernstein, Alain Lombard, James Conlon, Stainslav Skrovacewsky, and others. He has formed a duo with his wife, pianist Velia Yedra, which has performed to great public acclaim. Chruszcz is also the founder of the first Miami String Quartet. Bogdan Chruszcz' career encompasses live performances and recordings with great artists from both the classical and popular music worlds. He has performed and recorded with Luciano Pavarotti, Issac Stern, and Mstislav Rostropovich as well as with Frank Sinatra, Julio Iglesias, John Denver, Peter Nero, and Will Chirino. ![]() |
