At the young age of 18 months, Conrad was found playing children’s songs on the piano, and started violin lessons at the age of 3. He gave his first public piano recital at age 4, and was featured on PBS’s “From the Top – Live from Carnegie Hall: series in 2006 as a violinist, pianist and composer. Winner of the Prokofiev Concerto Competition in 2006, his orchestral performances include the Aspen Festival Orchestra under Leonard Slatkin, and the Russian National Orchestra among others. Upcoming concerts include the Philadelphia Orchestra under Christoph Eschenbach, the San Francisco Symphony, return engagements in Italy, a tour of China with the Juilliard Orchestra.

Ars a violinist and competition winner, Conrad is a recipient of violins from the Stradivari Society, and currently plays on a 1899 Giulio de Gani violin on loan from the Juilliard Rare Instrument Collection. As a composer, Tao is a 5-time consecutive winner of the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Compose Award.
